We are thrilled to announce that we've been awarded the Cadbury Trophy for the best chocolate ice cream in the UK and Ireland at the National Ice Cream Awards.
It's the second time we have landed the title, the first coming 15 years ago in 2010 when Derek Rowley was the first name etched into the trophy.
And while we were all busy high-fiving each other at the glitzy Belfry award ceremony, we almost missed the announcement that we also won a silver medal in the fiercely contested vanilla class, and a bronze in the open class for caramelized biscuit (which you have to try by the way!)
We're pretty sure these were our best set of results ever...and we've been entering for decades!
The awards are known as the 'Oscars' of UK ice cream competitions and have been judged blind by experts from the ice cream world every year since 1953.
Quality is one of our core values, and we have always believed that it's important to see how our recipes stand up against the very best artisan producers from across the Isles.
It keeps us on our toes. And while we inevitably 'win some and lose some', we always leave inspired and motivated to keep tinkering and delivering the best ice cream and sorbets we can for visitors old and new to our parlour in the heart of Eryri National Park.
We have now accumulated seven gold medals, four silvers, four bronzes, and over 100 diplomas throughout our history which dates back to the early '70s when Derek began experimenting with soft-serve ice cream.
